Elizabeth's Story
LA VITA BELLA
Born in Wisconsin, East Coast bred in both Boston and Washington D.C., educated in New England, trained by The Moscow Art Theatre, Accademia Dell’Arte, British American Drama Academy, and with an MA from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art - Elizabeth is an internationally trained artist and performer.
With a background that spans from academic studies in film history, to devising her own work and performing collaboratively - Elizabeth is a trained singer, dancer, actor, physical performer and clown. She believes that theatre and the arts can be used to subvert society and challenge audiences to new thoughts and experiences never considered possible.
After returning to the United States, Elizabeth trained with Shakespeare & Company located in Lenox, Massachusetts and is now residing and performing in Chicago, Illinois. With an emphasis in comedy and physical theatre, and a focus on heightened text, Elizabeth is a fan of allowing the theatrical to be just that – theatrical.
Her greatest influences include Shakespeare, Tennessee Williams, Brecht, Beckett, Gogol, Chaplin, and Keaton.
She is a lover of museums, fabulous shoes, walking for long stretches through the city, visual art, antiques, classic literature, poetry by EE Cummings, classic film and silent movies, and singing and dancing along to pretty much any kind of music out there.
Elizabeth believes that you can never stop growing and challenging yourself as a performer. Above all things, emotional honesty and a constant curiosity of the world around you while maintaining a sense of humor - is imperative to not only being a successful performer, but to being a successful human as well.
